Ian Waugh - Founder, Prime ABC

Prime ABC was formed out of initial research into DAB broadcasting by Ian Waugh who has more than 35 years industry experience as a broadcaster, producer, manager and successful international broadcast management consultant.

Ian has worked in independent and state broadcasting in the UK, Europe and Africa.

Prior to the current Zimbabwean political crisis Ian worked with the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation as an adviser and turned a flagging national radio service (Radio 3) into a profitable and popular station.

Ian Waugh was a production and presentation adviser to Malta's national broadcaster, Xandir Malta (now PBS) and was later involved in several projects concerning deregulated broadcasting. Twenty years after initialling working Malta, Ian still retains strong connections with the country.

He assisted the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation and helped to establish the country's first all black presentation television news and current affairs programme as well as assisting and developing several major national radio projects. Whilst in Namibia Ian Waugh famously interviewed The Most Revd. Desmond Mpilo Tutu for NBC TV.

Ian Waugh who was born in South West England has been involved in several high profile broadcast ventures and remains a positive force in the broadcasting industry. He is currently based in the South East of England.
